The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music is delighted to present Canadian-American pianist Carter Johnson in concert on Friday, March 20, 2025, at 7 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church.

Born on Vancouver Island, Carter Johnson began piano at the age of five and has since become one of Canada’s most accomplished young artists. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, The Juilliard School, and the Yale School of Music, he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies.

Carter has received international acclaim, earning the silver medal at the 2024 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and advancing to the semifinals of the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He has performed with major orchestras including the Montréal Symphony, Utah Symphony, and the Polish National Radio Symphony, appearing in prestigious venues worldwide.

Known for his expressive artistry and engaging stage presence, Carter brings warmth and insight to every performance. His Nanaimo recital will showcase a mix of timeless classics and bold 20th-century works. A concert not to be missed!
