A branch of the global movement, Repair Cafe Nanaimo will be an accessible community hub for residents to bring in broken household items to be repaired by expert volunteers, one Saturday per month at the St. Andrews United Church Hall. Strengthening our community by sharing knowledge, lowering emissions by reducing/diverting waste, promoting sustainability, and fostering a sharing culture. Repair Café Nanaimo welcomes any residents to bring items such as clothing, electronics, bicycles, wooden items and small appliances to be repaired in real time with volunteers of various skillsets and backgrounds. Residents will learn what products are repairable and how to properly dispose of items that are not repairable. All while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee provided. Participation in these hands-on repair cafes will only open more opportunities for our local repair businesses and community at large.
